Hi there.
It’s Sunday and it’s sunny. It’s devastating and it’s funny. It’s hopeful and it’s dark. It’s a tangle and it’s an arc.
Bombs and raindrops are falling. People are gathering in peace and chaos. Flowers are blooming while cities are crumbling and here we are. Here we are in this unique iteration of what we call ‘civilization.’ Here we are at this pressurized moment of transformation.
Here we are.
Emphasis on ‘we.’
We’re all here together. Those of us quietly tending and those of us rallying. Those of us with our heads in the sand and those of us more informed than ever. Those of us that want this and those of us that want that. We are all here together in this moment and, from my quiet perch this morning, I want to make a prayer for all of us:
For everybody reading this letter and everybody not reading this letter, I pray for your peace and your safety and that your imagination and joy remain in tact in this turbulent time of change.
I am praying for everybody who still cares and everybody who stopped caring. For everybody who wants peace and for everybody who wants war. For everybody who knows and for everybody who doesn’t know. For everybody who will and for everybody who won’t. For everybody who can and for everybody who can’t.
I am praying for the tired ones, the angry ones, the smug ones, the righteous ones, the ignorant ones, the arrogant ones, the mean ones, the numb ones, the dumb ones, the leaders, the followers, the outliers, and the everybody else in-between ones.
I pray for all of Us and all of It.
Here we are.
Here I am. A single voice in a vast chorus and cacophony.
Here I am alive and well, awake and dreaming, tending and mending, learning and loving, grieving and weaving, creating and destroying, living and dying, and - ultimately - doing my best each day to leave the world more healed and beautiful than I found it. That’s all I can do and I rest well in that knowing.
As this next day and week and month unfurl before you, I hope that you have the life-force energy to pour your love fully into the people (yourself, included!), places, and projects that you’re holding. I hope that you find delight in shimmering and glittering your highest visions out loud and most pure and loving heart into the world. I hope that your generous giving of yourself to life fills your cup full and that you, too, can rest well in knowing that it is enough and that you are enough.
This marathon of change that we are now squarely inside of is not going to slow down or return to any kind of perceived ‘normal’ ever again. This arrow is forward pointing towards destiny or, maybe fate, and it’s up to each of us to contribute what we can to build the reality that we want to inhabit. This includes the outward work of being agents of change in the material realm and the inward work of self-acceptance, healing and deconditioning our psyches and selves.
When you imagine the highest timeline for humanity, what does it entail?
Are you dreaming big enough? Are you creative in your pursuit of reality crafting? If you have limited yourself to the US Constitution, the Bible, Quran, or Torah…maybe consider this an invitation to expand and dream even bigger.
Here is a peek inside some of the visions I am seeding this morning:
May all humans have well-regulated nervous systems and the ability to live comfortably and creatively inside their human bodies without shame while maintaining respect and awareness of all beings, mortality and life cycles
May all humans have open, porous and permeable minds that can hold certainty loosely, and expand freely to allow contradictory and paradoxical ideas to coexist while remaining curious and engaged. May we expand beyond our limited perceptions of reality into higher dimensions of thought, communication, and expression.
May all humans have the capacity to listen to and connect with the organic intelligence of nature, the elements, and the divine intelligence of the Cosmos and be guided by it and in service to it. May we experience a triumphant return into the Universal Law of One that is reflected within and without every aspect of society.
If we want the world to be kinder, then we need to bring more kindness. If we want it to be funnier, we need to tell a joke. If we want it to be fair, well, that’s not in any of our soul contracts as far as I’m concerned and we need to grow up. But if we want it to expand beyond the limits of anything any of our ancestors could ever imagine, we need to up-level our imagining, live into that promise, and expand.
This work of creative expansion is my primary focus here at Rootstock. Incension and ascension in equal parts. Evolution and involution in equal parts. Composition and decomposition in equal parts.
If you could use some help in refurbishing your imagination, deconditioning your thinking mind, practicing presence and inhabiting your body fully, it’s possible we might be able to help you. It’s possible that there might be something for you here.
Here’s a little overview of some offerings on the horizon for this next leg:
Stone Circle Solstice Celebration - Sunday, June 22nd 4:00-7:00pm - You are invited to join us for a Summer Solstice at Rootstock, where we will honor the Sun on the day of longest light. With the inner wildness at the full of its outward-facing power, we will honor and celebrate who we are and who we are becoming. We celebrate the gifts of light, power, maturity, and self – it is a time of great power. In this ceremony we will celebrate the Light, within and outside of us, and contemplate how we may continue to serve the Earth and our communities in authenticity.
The Root: Open-Source Mystery School & Psychedelic Salon - Wednesday, June 25th 6:30-8:30pm on Zoom - Beana will be talking about Land as Medicine and Place-based Practice as it relates to her work as a medicine guide and community builder. One hour of transmission and one hour for live questions. These causal but profound sessions are part of a year long series and they’re amazing.
Indepen-DANCE! with DJ Goddess Nectar - Friday, July 4th 6:00-9:00pm - Join in this community movement meditation to celebrate our sovereignty, our power, our beauty, and our joy! An ecstatic dance in service of individual and collective liberation! Bunks or campsites for the night are available when booking.
Drum Making with Dan from Turtle Drums - Saturday, July 5th 10:00am-3:00pm - This ceremony and workshop has one spot left and we’ll be making a 16” Elk frame drum.
Moon Circle - Saturday July 5th 4:30-9:30pm - This circle is powerful, beautiful, transformative, and yours if you want it. RSVPs are essential since the circle fills but feel welcome to join the waitlist too. Folks wanting to spend the night can rise into some morning togetherness, a work project, and then Kin Circle! It’s one of the most delicious and fortifying weekends of the month and you’re invited.
Kin Circle - Sunday, July 6th 12:30-3:30pm - For families, kids, and kin this monthly gathering is shaping up to be both epic and essential. Kids get an expansive environment to connect with people, to play, to work, and to learn. Families and mamas get a nurturing environment to rest and relax and recharge. It’s also a *perfect* day (and the only day) to drop in at Rootstock to say hi and explore. You dont need kids of your own to come. You can bring your kids and the neighborhoods kids if you want. It’s good for all!
Sun Circle - Sunday, July 6th 5:30-9:30pm (locations vary) - Men opening their hearts might be the most essential work that could be happening on Planet Earth at this moment. Men learning how to express their longing and love and fear and pain in healthy and supported ways is necessary if peace is something we, or our descendants, will experience. This casual but sacred circle crosses generational lines and is welcoming to all. If you are lonely and could benefit from some conscious community or would like some fellowship on your path of cultivating yourself as a man, husband, father, brother or friend you’re invited. Contact Cody for details on Sunday’s circle.
Psychedelic Integration Circle on Zoom - Tuesday, July 8th 7:30-9:00pm - This free or by donation Zoom is here to support *anybody* that would benefit from processing some of your healing work in community. Facilitated by me and/or Juliana Rose, this community approach to psychedelic integration has proven itself to be useful and sweet.
That’s a good slice of opportunity pie and, for those of you that feel called, we are looking forward to welcoming you to the imagination farm. Pretty much all of these offerings are intended to help you feel, heal, and deal with the mess and miracle of a life in summer of 2025.
My seventh cohort of the seasonal microdosing immersion, Medicine of the South, filled full and has shoved off from the dock and into the Mystery and, with six full laps around this wheel now, I can tell you that this container WORKS! This simple but profound format for microdosing in community has been restoring wholeness and recalibrating presence effectively every time. Of course, some folks wobble, but most that resolve to stay on the path find themselves different in powerful ways when we’re done.
Medicine of the West is now accepting folks on the waitlist and, if you’d like to spend a season together and see what it means to heal in community, hop on the list and trust that - if you are serious about wanting to join - then you will!
If the community angle feels daunting or you have Zoom-fatigue and would prefer a more solitary or organic experience, you can also do the self-guided course and do it at your own time. It’s $333 currently and the price will be going up to $555 in September so, if you’ve been wanting to explore this curriculum, now’s the time to get it.
There’s other stuff coming this Summer & Fall that will grow you in beautiful ways…an indigo workshop with Victoria Keen, a family constellations session with Jan Sandman, a broom making workshop with Hanna Mitchell, more Parlors with Rudy Elter and, of course, our Moon Village Community Retreats every 1st weekend. The 7th annual Transformation Fire is also anchoring the end of the season from Oct 28-Nov 1. This letter and the event calendar are the places to be in the know.
The expansive consolidation that I shared last month is very much underway and I am trusting that, on the other side of September, a new brand of spaciousness and comfort and inspiration will reveal itself inside my days and daze and I’ll be inspired to share more.
Thanks to all of you who support me and this strange and mysterious work that I am devoted to.
With gratitude, euphorbia, poppies, and mint….I say thank you.
With love and gentleness,
Beana
